Excellent Overview; Great Resource

I love typography, but my use of it is not as solid as many others involved in web design. I found this book to be a great overview of the status of web typography, how to use it, whats new, and much more. I especially liked the web font specimen section of the book letting me know what is available to use with @font-face and how compatible the fonts are on different OS's and browsers. Sure, one might be able to find these resources all over the web, but nothing beats picking up an actual book and flipping through it for information when needed.
The tone of the book works very well. There is a lot of information to swallow, but it is not presented in an overwhelming way; it works. For the price, this book is an excellent read, a great resource for more information, and worth a read for anyone struggling, or even deep into typography on the web. thanks Jason.

Good beginner primer on handling type on the web

Informative & helpful beginner primer on handling type on the web. Useful resource list, current information (with an online support website for any updates since being published) and consideration towards various browsers with practical tips prove this book to be a worthwhile start for a novice. However, an underlying tone of do as I say, not as I do (thus, the poorly designed & "safe" typographic choices in the templated page layouts; the examples provided were better designed). Written in a direct yet thoughtful point of view, it explains how web browsers operate using examples and case studies where applicable. Reader-friendly & digestable (I finished it in less than a week when I had spare time).

Resourceful

I bought this book because I liked the previous book from Jason Cranford Teague from 8 years ago and really liked how he
explained things on DHTML & CSS Advanced from Visual Quick Pro Guide. I also wanted to get back in touch with what I was
missing while I was out of the job field for five years (of being a full-time mom). This book is very resourceful and a perfect
reference for Web or Graphic Designers. I love the samples of many inspired Websites; good price; compact and stress-free reading :-).
